I love the original series. I loved TNG even more. I watched the original series years ago, and I welcome this new movie. It's not like William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy can be Kirk and Spock forever.
Assuming this movie is bad and will ruin your memories of Star Trek is stupid.

No Assuming the movie will be good based off some pictures and trailers is stupid.
I love all the star trek series from ToS to Voyager I even gave enterprise a chance. the same chance ill be giving this "Star Trek" but from watching the trailers ive gotten the same vibe of Enterprise mindless action and sexy girls No brains and substance.
I really want this to be a good movie i honestly do. I want to go watch it and eat my words. But i live in the real world the same world that destroyed Planet of the apes , The Day the earth stood still, The Blob, invasion of the body snatchers, star wars, Indiana Jones and the list goes on and on.
I fear we will be calling this the new coke of star trek
